Omega 3’s: Concussions, Hormones, Skin, Nerves, Heart, Immunity & More…

I am currently teaching the Brilliant Body Course online.  Omega 3 was coming up in so many body systems: Circulatory, Nervous, Immune, Glandular/Endocrine, and Structural.

It reminded of the importance of Omega 3 and I thought it was time to add some additional notes about this critical supplement in which many people are deficient.

Omega 3 been part of our Daily Insurance program for decades, available as Super Trio. Then I saw this article on the importance of Omegas for  Concussions in the June issue of   The Herbal Collective. I have expanded upon this article and hope you will add this important reminder of care for head injuries to the long list of benefits of Omegas.

Who gets concussions?

Out of the 3 to 4.5 million concussions every year, nearly 2,000,000 are children
aged nineteen or younger who are treated in emergency rooms for sports and recreational-
related head trauma.
The list for sports-related brain trauma includes soccer, hockey, lacrosse, wrestling,
playgrounds, bicycles, baseball,football, skateboards, horse-back riding, and falls.

Symptoms of Concussion

According to CDC, the most common symptoms of concussion are headaches,
brain fog, fatigue, lack of energy, personality and mood changes, anxiety, irritability, and a type of vertigo called BPPV  ( Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo).
Sometimes symptoms may not be readily apparent for days or even a couple of weeks.

The Essential Fats Protocol:

How do omegas help treat brain injury? “The brain is made of fat and about 30
percent of that fat is what are called omega-3 fatty acids, (Super Omega 3)”, says Udo Erasmus, author of ” Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill”.

“We’ve learned if we saturate the brain with what it is made of, we can create the nutritional foundation making it possible for the brain to heal itself.”
Erasmus says most people do not get enough Omega 3 fatty acids which come from cold water fish like salmon,  nuts and seeds like flax and chia seeds and walnuts.

Following a concussion, Udo recommends 3 grams of a balanced omega 3-6-9 oil  (Super Oil) in the morning noon, and night which will supply 9 grams of combined bioactive essential fatty acids daily. This nutritional support should continue for at least a week, or until  symptoms abate, whichever is longer, at which time supplementation should continue at gradually reduced dosages.

In my experience, many people do get more Omega 6, and 9’s via their diet, so are more deficient in the Omega 3’s, so we often see the need for Super Omega 3, which is 1000 mg. from quality tested sources. It contains a balance of EPA and DHA.

Read This Because There’s A 20% Chance You’ll Get A Concussion This Year!

Almost all of us have bumped our brain or had someone we care about experience this. Today, we understand a major nutrition tool, Omega-3 fish oil, can assist recovery – even from coma – or, better still, it can prevent the injury from being as severe in the first place.
I spoke of the benefits of extra oxygen assisting concussion recovery in my 2019 book Solving the Brain Puzzle. I recently read the book: When Brains Collide by Michael D Lewis MD. His secondary title for the book was “What every athlete and parent should know about the prevention and treatment of concussions and head injuries.” In this short article I will endeavour to outline the key concepts from the above book and the additional pieces that I have learned since the writing of my 2019 book.
To begin, concussion, or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), is now understood to occur even from a head bump with or without a loss of consciousness. In addition, the regular symptoms may occur immediately or days or even one to two weeks later. This knowledge will wisely expand your enthusiasm for the possibility of omega-3 nutrition treatment.
We now understand injury to the brain from concussion as a two step process. The first step is literally a bruise to the tissues much like a visibly bruised knee. The second is the bruise triggering a biochemical cascade or ‘waterfall of events’ that can happen immediately, but more likely several hours later. You could think of this as a smouldering small fire which in time bursts into flame. The flames are full bore or excess inflammation, which comprises redness, heat, swelling and pain or loss of function. This is extra critical as the brain is in a closed box and therefore swelling is a major factor in the headache experienced.
Secondary to the film “Concussion” starring Will Smith and Alex Baldwin, most of us focus on football as in the National Football League type. This is over simplified on our part. We now realize that  most sports are at risk. These include: ice hockey, especially in the Canadian context, rugby, soccer, wrestling, cycling, skateboarding, horseback riding, baseball, lacrosse and even playgrounds for younger kids. Another critical point is that young women athletes are even more at risk than boys or young men, although all groups are potentially at risk from motor vehicle accidents or simple falls. In the elderly, falls are the reason for 80% of their concussions.
In summary, the latest understood and employed therapy for concussions is ingesting omega-3 fish oils which contain both EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) which are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids essential for human health, primarily found in fatty fish and algae. These are typically in a liquid or gel capsule form. This is where the “omega-3 protocol” initiated by Michael D Lewis MD prior to his book of 2016 fits in.
He outlines that there are about four and a half million concussions every year in North America. Of these, nearly 2 million are children aged 19 years or younger. This is definitely a crisis.
Severe concussions can often be assisted by better nutrition, even through a feeding tube, if need be. The overall goal is 5,000 milligrams of combined EPA and DHA in fish oil three times a day for a total of 15,000 milligrams per day. Yes, this is above the regularly suggested amount by the FDA of 5,000 milligrams per day. However, you need the extra amount to reverse the inflammatory cascade. In coma, you will use these 5,000 milligrams  three times a day until a response. Once a response occurs then you would reduce it to 5,000 milligrams twice a day for a week and then further reduce to 5,000 milligrams per day ongoing. If the client regresses, go back up a level of dose until recovery returns.
In mild or moderate TBI  or concussion, which is of course not coma, then, as per the above, the 5,000 milligrams of EPA and DHA three times a day are suggested for a week. Then it is suggested 5,000 milligrams of EPA and DHA twice a day for a week and then ongoing with 5,000 milligrams of EPA and DHA daily.
I am excited to report that prevention is also a key possibility.
To this end, 5,000 milligrams of EPA and DHA per day ongoing is probably very useful in sports or at risk individuals such as the elderly. For example, I am 72 years old with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, and I will take Omega-3s for the rest of my life, by choice. My current favourite is Balanced Oil by Zinzino. However, my earlier choices were Nordic Naturals and NAKA fish oils.

Health of Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Children – Is There A Difference?

The Public have been asking for this study for decades…..finally…..

Dr. Paul Thomas,  a pediatrician for 35 years,  published a study Nov. 2020  titled “Relative Incidence of Office Visits and Cumulative Rates of Billed Diagnoses Along the Axis of Vaccination” in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. His study showed unvaccinated children in his practice were significantly healthier than those who were vaccinated.

His medical license was revoked Dec. 2020. Unfortunately  scientific inquiry and medical research have been increasingly censored, or labelled conspiracy, since 2020.*

His study involved a comparison  of 3,324 children Dr. Paul had seen in his practice from 2008 to 2019.  Of  these children 2,763 had been vaccinated with between 1 and 40 vaccines, while 561 had received no vaccines. The study revealed a clear curve:  the more vaccines a child received, the more chronic diseases they developed.

To summarize, this study showed that:

  • 5% of unvaccinated children had chronic health issues, while 50% of those vaccinated did.
  • 0% of those unvaccinated had diabetes, versus 10% of those vaccinated had diabetes.

The data compiled on these and many other diseases is quite compelling. You can read the full report on link in first sentence of this article.

The “official” stance on vaccines is that they are safe and effective. The “claim” is that the benefits of vaccination far outweigh any side effects caused by the vaccines . This is called the Risk- Benefit ratio.

The Childrens’ Health Defence compiled a  collection of over 50 other studies….

These are published studies done by respected Medical researchers: many from  PubMed; others from Journal of Translational Science, Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice, The Lancet, plus Nederlands researchers.

The  charts in this study  make it very easy to see the differences in health, comparing individuals who were vaccinated with those who were not. This raises serious questions about whether the risks ARE acceptable for the alleged benefits.

Hopefully it will cause you to pause and question if the risks are acceptable for  you, or your loved ones,  before you decide to take the next jab “to protect you”.

* Not too surprisingly, but very unfortunately for truth seekers, Dr. Thomas’ study was quickly debunked by writers who are paid by several organizations to defame and dispute anything that does not fit the current political/medical/economic point of view. Read the studies provided here and make your own decisions and choices.

I prefer to think many people DO still have working brains and they should have the choice to read studies and decide what is valid. The SAME world wide research is available to EVERYONE on the internet – this is how science is supposed to evolve – by sharing theories and research!

What is now too often labelled “Conspiracy Theory” becomes accepted science years later….. round earth; chem trails (now labelled geoengineering), black holes , computers that fit into your hand (cell phones?), space ships, somatids, nano-particles, were all at one time a conspiracy theory, remember?
