After the E\/R doctor cleaned\u00a0the wound \u00a0thoroughly and stitched it up , he put me on an oral antibiotic. Within a day the hand became very swollen and infected. The doctor then immediately started me on I\/V\u00a0 antibiotic along with the oral and I kept that up for six days and the infection did not improve at all. My good neighbour Lorene Benoit suggested I try some Comfrey to see if it would help. She brought me some Comfrey root which I blended in a food processor, made a tea, which I drank. I took the pulp and mixed it with activated charcoal powder and made a poultice to cover the palm and the back of my hand and then went to bed. I woke up about the hours later and what I noticed made me think it was dream. The bandage\u00a0wrap around my hand was now loose and the pain was much diminished and the redness was almost all gone. The next day I was taken off the I\/V and resumed the oral antibiotic. Lorene also suggested that I start taking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturessunshine.ca\/content\/ca\/FactsheetsEnglish\/1510.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">probiotics<\/a> which I did and have had no digestion problems during my recovery. The quick turn around resulting from that simple treatment was nothing short of amazing.
